Hazard

Certain Fisher & Paykel double DishDrawer units have a control board that can overheat under prolonged use cycles, creating a potential fire risk at the rear electrical panel. Consumers have reported burning odors and visible scorch marks.

Affected Models

DD60DDFHX7 and DD60DCHX9 double DishDrawer models manufactured between April 2016 and September 2017. The serial label is on the inner right wall of the lower drawer.

Units Affected

Approximately 4,800 units in the United States.

What to Do

  1. Stop using the appliance immediately if you detect burning smells or see discoloration around the control panel.
  2. Contact Fisher & Paykel to confirm whether your unit is affected and to schedule a free control board inspection and replacement.
  3. Do not leave the DishDrawer running unattended overnight until the repair is complete.
  4. If scorch marks are present, consult a qualified electrician before resuming use of the kitchen circuit.
