Code Meaning Severity Common Symptom

20 Lid open / pause Low The cycle stops and code 20 is displayed, indicating the controller believes the lid is open or the lid switch is not confirming a closed state. View 21 Hall sensor fault High The fault appears as the SmartDrive tries to accelerate the basket — the controller cannot confirm rotor position and halts. View 30 Water valve fault Medium The machine fills for the maximum allowed time, fails to reach the required water level, and raises code 30. View 31 Fill level not reached Medium The machine filled for the maximum allowed time but the pressure sensor did not confirm the required water level, producing code 31 as a follow-up to a fill problem. View 35 Drain fault Medium The fault appears when the machine tries to drain and the water level sensor does not confirm the tub is empty within the allotted drain time. View 37 Pressure sensor fault Medium The fault appears while the machine is filling or draining, as the controller receives an out-of-range or static signal from the pressure transducer. View 42 Motor controller fault High The SmartDrive controller halts the cycle and flashes fault code 42, typically during the agitate or spin phase. View 43 Motor communication fault High The fault appears when the main PCB attempts to communicate with the motor controller at the beginning of a wash or spin phase. View 49 Water temperature sensor fault Medium The fault typically appears on warm or hot wash cycles when the controller attempts to verify water temperature via the thermistor. View DL Door lock failure Medium The machine raises the DL fault when it attempts to lock the door before starting a cycle and does not receive confirmation that the lock has engaged. View EF Excessive foam Low The front-loader detects excessive foam via the pressure sensor and pauses the cycle to allow foam to subside before continuing. View F1 Front-loader motor fault High The WH series front-loader raises F1 when the motor controller detects a drive fault, usually at spin ramp-up or during high-speed extraction. View F2 Door interlock fault Medium The front-loader displays F2 when the door interlock switch fails to confirm door status — either at cycle start or when the machine checks the interlock during operation.
