Fisher & Paykel Oven Door Glass Shattering — Recalls safety notice from the Fisher & Paykel repair guide.
Hazard
The inner or outer door glass panel on certain Fisher & Paykel built-in ovens can shatter spontaneously during or after use, sending sharp glass fragments toward consumers and posing laceration hazards.
Affected Models
OB60S and OB76S series built-in pyrolytic ovens manufactured between January 2014 and June 2016. Check the model label on the oven door frame interior, visible when the door is fully open.
Units Affected
Approximately 9,200 units sold through kitchen showrooms and appliance retailers in the United States.
What to Do
- Inspect the door glass for any chips, cracks, or star-shaped stress fractures before each use.
- Discontinue use if any damage is visible.
- Contact Fisher & Paykel to schedule a free door glass replacement by an authorized technician.
- Do not run the pyrolytic self-clean cycle until the glass has been inspected and replaced if necessary.
